How do figures such as tables and charts aid in the assessment process?

Teachers use assessment results to guide the instructional process and to determine those areas where a student may need further support.
Stiggins (2018) states as educators learn to understand how assessment supports student learning, we must also understand the impact that scores have on students.
Teachers can use the data to determine if higher-order thinking (HOT) questions are adequate for students.
Here is a list of HOTS I have used to guide my instruction.
How did you figure it out? What did you do next? Why did you do that? Tell me more. What strategy did you use? What strategies do you see used? Which strategies seem to be efficient, quick, and simple? What was the first thing your eyes saw, or that your brain did?
The table and chart listed below is a visual representation of the performance of students on a math assessment.
To further instruction for students in math students will be grouped in pairs for the hands-on-activity. Students will take turns measuring a piece of string and stating the length in words. The partner will write down the words and will verify that the student read the words correctly.
As the students work in groups, the teacher will walk around to ensure that each pair of students understands the activity. Students will then be given a choice to extend their practice
